Ralph Bunche

Ralph Bunche was the first African
American man to be a
Division in the head of state, US government, and the US state
department. He lived in New Mexico when he was young. He taught at
Harvard University from 1950 to 1952.
Ralph Bunche was born on
August 7, 1904, and he was an only child. Ralph went to high
school at Jefferson high in Los Angeles and graduated as the
valedictorian. He graduated from the University of California
as the valedictorian with a major in international relations.
He received a scholarship for graduate studies to Harvard University
and the black community also gave a him a fund of a thousand dollars
to attend.
Ralph Bunche was always active in
the civil rights movement. He helped to lead the civil rights
movement with Dr. King in Montgomery Alabama.
Ralph Bunche is famous for his
work with the United States government and to the United Nations
He won the Nobel Peace
Prize for his work on helping the Arabs and the Jews' conflict in
Palestine.
Ralph Bunche died in 1971.
