Third Grade March/April News

Isn’t It Grand?

We were very excited to receive letters from our pen pals at Grand Coteau. The girls from Grand

Coteau will be visiting us in the spring. The fourth grade who have pen pals at Grand Coteau as well will be visiting THERE in the spring. What a wonderful way to build

community between our schools!

Written and Illustrated by…

When we return from our Easter break we will begin our Written and Illustrated by… project. Each student writes and illustrates her own book. There are several important deadlines that have to be met in

order to progress on to the next stage. Most of the work is completed at school; however, occasionally, some of it is done at home. It is usually the illustrating component. We will have an Authors’ Tea to celebrate our completed works in May.

Stanford Time

On March 15 we will begin Stanford testing. It is very important for each student to be well rested, have eaten a good breakfast, and be on time to ensure her best performance. Please make sure to send a snack too.

Lewis and Clark

In social studies we will soon begin our study of Lewis and Clark. We will be involved in exciting activities that will help the children understand the challenges of their journey and the impact it had on our nation’s growth.
