1. How do I download a picture from the Internet?
Find the picture you want to download. Point to it and click it with the right-mouse button. Scroll down to "save image as" or "save picture as" and click it with the left-mouse button. Then decide where you want to save the picture to (for example, the desktop, the C: drive in My Documents or to a floppy disk on the A: drive). It will already have a filename. Just click the SAVE button and your picture is downloaded.

To put the picture you have downloaded from the Internet into a document, go to "INSERT "on the menu bar. Then scroll down to "PICTURE" then scroll to "FROM FILE". Find the location you saved the picture to and select it. You can insert it by double-clicking on it or by clicking it once then clicking okay.

1. How do I create a
folder for organizing my files?
To create a folder, first double-click on "My Computer" which is located on the desktop. Then click on the drive you wish to create the folder on
(for example, 3 1/2 floppy A: for the floppy disk, or C: for the hard drive on your computer. Note: If you are creating a folder on the C: drive it is best to double-click on "My Documents" first to create it there). After you have selected the place where you want to create your folder, in a blank space click the right-mouse button. Then scroll down to "NEW" then scroll over to "Folder". The folder will appear and the words "new folder" should be highlighted in blue. Simply type the name you would like to have on your folder (a name that is relevant to what you will be using it for). Once you have typed your file name, click off into a blank space twice to unselect the folder. If you would like to rename the folder, click on it with the right-mouse button, scroll down to and click rename. Then simply type another name for the folder. Remember to click off into a blank space twice to unselect the folder.
2. How do I get
the toolbars that I need for word-processing?
In Microsoft Word, to select or de-select toolbars, go to "VIEW" on the menu bar and scroll down to "Toolbars". Click on the toolbar that you would like to have available. This will put a check in front of it. You will have to go through the steps for each toolbar you would like to select. The toolbars that have a check in front of them are already available to you. The ones that do not have a check in front of them are not available and you will have to select it by clicking them one at a time.

Highlight the item you want to copy by clicking your left mouse at the beginning of the text and drag it down while holding it, to the end of the text. Release the left mouse button and click the text, while highlighted, with the right-mouse button. Scroll down to copy. Then release the mouse. Move your cursor to the position or document where you want to copy the text to. Then click with the right-mouse button and scroll down to paste. (Note: Copy and paste will do just that. The text you copied will still be in it's original place. You will have a copy in both places.)4. How do I cut and paste?

To change your text in Microsoft Word to all lowercase, uppercase or mixed case, you simply highlight the text you want to change, then press the "Shift" key and the "F3" key. Press it again to change the text, and press it a third time to change it again.

To change the page orientation to print in landscape. First go to "File" then "Print". Once you get to the print menu click "Properties". After you have selected properties, select the tab that says either "Basics" or "Features" depending on your particular computer. After selecting the tab, you should see "Orientation". Select the orientation you need (Landscape or Portrait), then press okay. (Note: Portrait is your default setting)
7. How do I resize
a picture?
To resize a picture click on it one time to select it. There may be small boxes around the picture. Click the picture with the left-mouse button, in the corner to resize to keep it proportional. Once you have clicked the corner box (top left/right or bottom left/right) hold it and drag it out to make it larger or drag it in to make it smaller. Release the mouse when finished.
