French (Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten)

PRE-KINDERGARTEN

Pre-K girls are off to a great start in French!  We have learned the colors in French and have played the French color game, which involves searching for the colors all over the classroom (lots of movement and lots of fun).  We can now count to ten in French with our Grande Madeleine and Petite Madeleine dolls.  This week we learned a French children’s song about the rain and a frog.

KINDERGARTEN

Kindergarten girls are doing fantastiques!  After a quick review they seem to have remembered our colors and counting from last year… and the new girls are catching on very well.  We read a wonderful book called Minou, which is about a cat in Paris, and we learned quite a bit about Notre Dame as a result.  Many of you may have been asked to guess how many people can worship in the cathedral at one time as that was one of the amazing facts we learned.  By now, I am sure you have heard that we are learning the words for many of the objects in our classroom.   The girls are excited about this unit, and they can even say the word for calculator in French (la calculatrice).
