Second Grade Religion

With approval from the Archdiocese, Sacred Heart second grade students receive instruction in preparation for receiving the sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist. However, the first reception of these sacraments takes place in the students' church parishes.

During the second trimester, the focus of second grade religion class is the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Act of Contrition

My God, I am sorry for my sins with all of my heart.

In choosing to do wrong, and failing to do good,

I have sinned against you whom I should love with all of my heart.

I firmly intend, with your  help, to do penance,

to sin no more, to avoid whatever leads me to sin.

Our Savior, Jesus Christ, suffered and died for us. 

In His name, my God, have mercy.  Amen.

After the Christmas holidays, second grade lessons focus on the Sacrament of the Eucharist.
