Physical Education is defined as education through movement.  The ASH program is designed to help our girls learn motor and lifetime activity skills.  We try to help all students succeed regardless of ability or skill level while they are developing  school spirit and good sportsmanship and appreciating the benefits of an active lifestyle.   

           First and Second Grades                                            Third and Fourth Grades

  • learning new fitness games and new recreational games
  • throwing skills emphasizing stepping toward the target and follow-through
  • developing skills with jump ropes
  • playing partner manipulative activities using different types of balls
  • introducing manipulative skills using basketballs and playground balls
  • developing movement skills of sliding, galloping, and movement combos
  • using other movement skills of hopping, hoop activities, and body shapes
  • learning new fitness games and recreational activities
  • manipulative skills using hoops
  • throwing skills for form, velocity, and for accuracy
  • activities using basketballs and volleyballs
  • manipulative skills using playground balls
  • rhythmic movement skills
  • fundamental skills using long jump ropes and individual ropes
