this girl changes the world, 2003-04 Information on School Tours & Open HouseThe Academy of the Sacred Heart is a Catholic, independent, college preparatory school for girls in Nursery through Grade 12. It was founded in 1887 by the Religious of the Sacred Heart, and shares a tradition and a commitment to Christian education today with an international network of schools in 44 countries. The student body numbers 820, and there are 90 full and part time faculty members. The school is governed by a Board of Trustees composed both lay and religious members. Accreditation
The Academy of the Sacred Heart admits academically qualified
students without regard to race, color, national or ethnic origin.
When an application is complete, the Admissions Committee reviews the entire record and reaches a decision. Parents are then notified according to the schedule of dates set by the ISAS schools in New Orleans. Financial Aid and Scholarship An important part of education for life in a pluralistic
society is the opportunity to grow up with students from differing social,
cultural and economic backgrounds. To implement this conviction, the school
has a financial aid program for students in grades K-12. Guidelines provided
by the School and Student Service for Financial Aid, which is affiliated
with NAIS, are used in determining the amount of the grants to be made.
Students receiving financial aid must meet regular admission requirements.
In addition, several partial scholarships are available to students who
qualify and demonstrate financial need. |
